Raleigh, NC (September 16, 2008) — On Tuesday, September 16th at 10am, Mark Davis of J.M. Davis Custom Homes presented a check in the amount of $27,400 to the WakeMed Foundation. The funds were generated through special events, donations and the sale of the WRAL Concept Home located at 11321 Royal Amber Way in the Rose Hall Development.
The WRAL Concept Home tour was open to the public from April 4th – April 13th, 2008. Admission to the home was free, but donations were accepted at the door for WakeMed Foundation. This beautiful 4 bedroom, 5 ½ bath Concept Home, was fully-furnished for the duration of the tour. The home has several “green” features, and boasts 7,600+ heated square feet.
WakeMed Foundation is grateful for donations from the home tour, the generosity of the homebuilder; J.M. The donations collected will support the WakeMed Foundation’s efforts to expand pediatric services at WakeMed North Healthplex. The North Healthplex is just a few miles from Rose Hall Subdivision and features the first 24-hour, full service, stand-alone emergency department in North Carolina. WakeMed has also been approved to add 20 new inpatient beds to North Healthplex, making it Wake County’s fifth inpatient hospital. An application has been submitted to the state to develop 41 additional beds at North Healthplex. If the 41 additional beds are approved, North Healthplex will become Wake County’s first women’s hospital.
